Advanced Computer Design Systems

Our CAD/CAM computer system sits at the heart of our operation. This powerful setup opens up a world of design possibilities for your projects. Do you need complex parts with tight tolerances? Our digital design capabilities turn your ideas into reality before a single piece of metal is cut. This digital-to-physical pipeline saves you time and money by catching issues early in the design phase, not during production when changes cost more and delay your project.

Cutting-Edge Metal Processing

Our C.N.C. laser cutting machine handles sheets up to 72" x 144" and powers through 1" carbon steel, 1/2" stainless steel, and 1/2" aluminum like butter. It also tackles plastics and exotic metals with precision. The rotary axis takes your fabrication to the next level, allowing 3D cutting of tubes and pipes. When you need perfect holes in metal, our C.N.C. punch press handles unlimited work areas and punches through 1/4" carbon steel with ease. The heavier 50-ton C.N.C. turret punch steps things up to 3/8" thick steel. For structural shapes, our Buffalo Iron Worker makes short work of angle shearing up to 4" x 4" x 3/8" angle with bar shear and coping capabilities.

Precision Shearing and Forming

Our Cincinnati plate shear makes clean cuts through 3/8" carbon steel up to 12 feet long, or 1/4" stainless steel. Do you need to bend that metal after cutting? Our press brake lineup handles the job with precision. The 80-ton Amada tackles 12-gauge carbon steel up to 96" long, while our two Cincinnati press brakes – 230-ton and 300-ton models – form 3/8" carbon steel up to 12 and 15 feet, respectively. All feature C.N.C. gauging systems for consistency across your entire order.

Working with curves? Our Roundo plate rolls form 5/16" carbon steel up to 6'6" long, and the Niagara handles 1/4" carbon steel up to 4' long – both with cone rolling attachments for tapered shapes. This equipment doesn't just bend metal – it shapes possibilities for your projects.

Sawing Solutions

Different cutting jobs demand different tools. That's why we maintain a full array of saws in our shop. Our Marvel band saws include both an 18" x 18" general-purpose unit and a fully automatic production model for high-volume jobs. The DoAll saws cut steel, wood, and plastic, while our DoAll friction saw makes rough cuts through any alloy with a 24" height capacity. For non-ferrous metals, the Backus saw handles pieces up to 12" wide, and the Scotchman cold saw delivers clean cuts through 12" stainless steel and other alloys.

Specialized Metal Fabrication: Going Beyond Just Cutting and Forming

Metal fabrication isn't just about cutting sheets and bending angles. Our Whitney angle shear handles 6" x 6" x 3/8" carbon steel angles, while the Boschert notcher creates precise cutouts in 1/4" carbon steel. Working with concrete reinforcement? Our Peddinghouse rebar bender forms bars up to 1-1/4" in diameter. Surface finish matters too – our glass bead and blast booth (30" x 30" x 48") prepares your metal for painting or creates decorative finishes. Our grinding and polishing department achieves pharmaceutical-grade quality for the most demanding applications. Heat treatment and proper tool selection make all the difference in these specialized processes that turn ordinary metals into extraordinary products.

Heavy Lifting and Workshop Essentials

Big metal needs serious muscle. Our four-ton capacity overhead cranes and 6500-pound Toyota forklift keep materials flowing through our shop. The Pittsburgh lockformer, three spot welders (one Sciaky and two Taylor Windfield 75 KVA units), and two stud welders (handling studs from tiny diameters up to 5/8") join your metal pieces permanently. Our 2" x 36" plate roller forms small cylinders and rings with precision. This workshop infrastructure might not be as flashy as our C.N.C. equipment, but it's just as vital to getting your job done right.
